Alta Floresta Natural History Museum is an important place where you can find all city's history as well as studies of archaeology, paleontology, geology and zoology.

You can find their artifacts from polished stone, ceramics, fossils and replicas of bodies from Pre-Cambrian to Quaternary period, collected from the region mining. You can find items that tells about Alta Floresta colonization, stuffed animals, rocks and historical pieces.

The museum is indicated for children because it has rooms dedicated to workshops, serving the local schools. The place also promotes environmental awareness and develops skills by paper and moriche palm (Brazilian local palm tree) handicrafts, as well as basic concepts of drawing and bonsai cultivation.

You can find some pieces made in these workshops in the souvenir store. Be sure to buy some souvenir such as handicrafts, books and bio-jewelry.
