The New Year’s Eve in Rio, more precisely at Copacabana Beach, is the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in Brazil. The party is free admission and it is worldwide known for the huge number of people on the sand strip, sidewalk and in the streets. It is also famous for the firework display.
The fun is guaranteed with national and international singers and samba school shows. There are three stages on the beach playing different music genres in each stage. There are many giant screens along the coast so if you are far from the stage it is will not a problem.
If you don’t enjoy crowds, you can go to one of the several parties hosted in clubs. There is a wide range of options in many different neighbourhoods. The parties at clubs are charged but they are open bar and there is private security.
