Discover a Paradise of Golden Sands in Cabo Frio

Cabo Frio

Praia do Peró is a true refuge for nature lovers and tranquility seekers.

Cabo Frio, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is famous for its paradisiacal beaches and sunny weather throughout the year. This charming city is part of the Lakes Region, a coveted tourist destination that is home to a series of stunning beaches, tranquil lakes, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Praia do Peró

Praia do Peró is one of the most beautiful in Cabo Frio and has already received the Blue Flag seal – a certification that guarantees the quality of water and sand, as well as safety, mobility, and accessibility.

It is a true refuge for nature lovers and tranquility seekers! The golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and stunning landscapes provide an unforgettable experience for those seeking a getaway away from the crowds.

It’s best to go to the beach early and enjoy the entire day in the region. There are several attractions you can explore there, from practicing water sports to visiting paradisiacal islands!

Dunas do Peró

On the left side of the beach, you will fall in love with the Dunas do Peró. The hills of fine, golden sand, ranging in height from 6 to 20 meters, are part of a vast environmental preservation area.

There is a trail in this vastness of sand that will take you to Lagoa do Guriri. It is ideal to hire an environmental guide to guide you through the beauties of the dunes and tell the various stories and curiosities behind this paradise.

And if you are a sports lover, the dunes are perfect for practicing sandboarding – known as surfing on sand. At the location, you can hire a professional instructor who will give you a true lesson on the formation of the dunes and teach you how to maneuver on the sand.

Morro do Vigia

On the other side of the beach, the attraction is Morro do Vigia. It is located exactly on the border between Praia do Peró and Praia das Conchas. The hill enchants with its viewpoints and its small beaches! To have a complete experience, take the hill trail and enjoy everything it has to offer.

The trail is only 860 meters long. The first stop is Mirante das Conchas, where you will enjoy the view of Ponta do Arpoador – the entire length of Praia das Conchas, Arraial do Cabo, and the islands of Cabo Frio. Spend some time there, enjoying the breathtaking view! And don’t forget the photos!

The next stop is Mirante do Peró, where you will see the entire Praia do Peró and part of Búzios. Another experience you won’t forget! Recharge your energies, as the next point on the trail is Buraco do Sargo, a small beach nestled in the rocky coast with a beautiful view. It is a great place to cool off before continuing the walk!

Continuing along the trail, Pesqueirinho is another option to rest and swim. The small beach is used by local fishermen to store boats and fishing gear. The view is complete with the beautiful rock formations. Last but not least, you will visit Gruta do Vigia. The rock cut is very close to Pesqueirinho. The light entering through the opening of the crevice provides incredible photos!

Praia das Conchas

The beautiful Praia das Conchas is right next to Praia do Peró and is among the most beautiful in Cabo Frio. With calm and crystal-clear waters, as well as a good infrastructure of kiosks, it is perfect for those who love comfortable walks without hassles. It also has natural pools formed between the rocks in the sea. Everything is amazing!

Ilha do Japonês

You can also take the opportunity to visit Ilha do Japonês. A beautiful spot of greenery, sand, and clear water. You can walk to the island when the tide is low. But there are also boats that can take you there, departing from Praia do Peró. It’s a trip that is very worthwhile!
