Carnival Experience with the 2022 Carnival Champion

The tour behind the scenes of Rio’s Carnival takes place at the Cidade do Samba, where the main samba schools’ warehouses are located. Upon arrival, you will be directed to the Acadêmicos do Grande Rio’s warehouse, where you will immerse yourself in the carnival universe. Are you ready?

You will dive into a world filled with stories and curiosities about samba and Carnival parades. All this while the guide shows you the entire production process of the floats and the more than 3,000 costumes that will be used in the next parade. It is a true immersion amidst people working to make the school shine in the Sambadrome.

How about trying on some costumes that have already dazzled in Grande Rio’s parades? You will have this opportunity! Enjoy the experience and take lots of photos and videos. And it doesn’t stop there. The tour ends with a small live show with the school’s dancers and a samba lesson so you can try a samba step while savoring a delicious caipirinha.

How to Book a Tour

You can experience the Carnival Experience in two ways. The first is a regular tour that takes place Monday to Saturday at 10 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm. The second is a private tour for groups of 5 or more people and can be scheduled Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 6 pm. All tours are available in several languages, and tickets can be purchased directly online.

How to Get There

Getting to the Cidade do Samba is very easy. Using public transport, you can take the VLT and get off at the “Cidade do Samba” station, which is right in front of the main entrance of the tour location. For those driving, just enter “Carnaval Experience” or “Cidade do Samba” into transportation apps. If you need parking, there is a paid parking lot very close to the location.
