An intense day with wonderful beaches, lots of marine life, and a spectacular sunset. Pure perfection.
Fernando de Noronha is considered by many to be a paradise on Earth. And no wonder, as it is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. On an island tour, you will explore stunning beaches, fall in love with panoramic viewpoints, connect with nature, and enjoy moments of pure beauty and tranquility.
What is the Island Tour?
The Island Tour is the best way to see the main spots of Noronha in one day. The tour starts early and ends at sunset. The entire route is by car, with strategic stops to enjoy the beaches and other attractions. You will visit Baía do Sancho, Buraco da Raquel, the Shark Museum, the Chapel of São Pedro, Baía do Sueste, Praia do Leão, Cacimba do Padre, Baía dos Porcos, and end the day at the Mirante do Boldró.
Besides being an incredible experience, the Island Tour plays an important role in the island’s environmental preservation. Guides provide information about local fauna and flora, raising visitors’ awareness of the importance of conservation and sustainability.
Baía do Sancho: Fall in love with the best beach in the world
The day begins with a breathtaking landscape. Baía do Sancho has consistently ranked high in the Travellers’ Choice awards, annually selected by the travel site Tripadvisor. It was named the best beach in the world in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2023. The beach is within the Marine National Park, and a ticket is required to visit.
Next, you will walk along a well-structured boardwalk that provides access to the viewpoints and the set of stairs leading down to Sancho Beach. There are two metal ladders installed in rock crevices, followed by a hundred steps carved into the cliff. At the end, you will find soft white sand and crystal-clear waters. Here you will have time to swim and snorkel, admiring the marine life.
The Port Area and Its Charms
The port area is another destination on the Island Tour. Here, you will visit the famous Buraco da Raquel, a rock formation with a hole in the middle, located on a gravel beach surrounded by shallow pools that serve as marine nurseries. The site is steeped in legends, which your guide will share. Next, you head to the Shark Museum to see a complete collection of Fernando de Noronha’s marine fauna. Leaving there, the next stop is the Chapel of São Pedro, where you will find one of the island’s most beautiful views.
Baía do Sueste and Praia do Leão
Sueste is one of the best beaches for observing marine life in Fernando de Noronha, as it is a feeding area for turtles and sharks. You will have time to walk along the beach and explore the only insular mangrove in the Atlantic Ocean. Continuing the tour of wonderful beaches, the guide will take you to the viewpoint of Praia do Leão. While you are amazed by the beauty, the guide will explain the history behind the beach’s name.
Cacimba do Padre and Baía dos Porcos
Cacimba do Padre is home to the famous Morro Dois Irmãos. Upon arriving at the beach, you will immediately see it. Take advantage of the opportunity to fill your phone with photos and videos to share with family and friends. From there, you will walk a short trail to Baía dos Porcos. This walk must be done at low tide, as the access is via rocks. When you reach the top of the rocks, turn right to go to the viewpoint for one of the most beautiful views of Morro Dois Irmãos. Another pause for many photos, of course.
A Sunset to Remember Forever
Whatever the order of your Island Tour, it always ends at the Mirante do Boldró. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable sunset with Morro Dois Irmãos in the background. A breathtaking view.
Stay Informed!
The Island Tour lasts all day and can be booked through various tourism companies operating in Noronha. Transportation will pick you up from your accommodation and return you at the end of the day. There is a stop for lunch in the middle of the day, and the guide always offers suggestions for restaurants. Don’t forget your swimsuit, sunscreen, and snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, and fins).
