Porto de Galinhas
There is a true paradise only 50 km from the city of Recife, a place where visitors will find white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters surrounded by coconut trees. We are, of course, referring to Porto de Galinhas, an incredible region renowned for its natural beauty.

Porto de Galinhas is home to so many charming attractions that it has become one of the main tourist centers in the state of Pernambuco. The main attractions in the region include natural pools with clear warm water, white-sand beaches, estuaries, coconut trees, and mangroves. Located in the municipality of Ipojuca, the beach is the ideal destination for tourists looking for warm weather as well as peace and quiet.

Muro Alto Beach
Stretching for 3 km, Muro Alto beach is one of the favorites among visitors looking for comfort and luxury. There are lots of resorts and luxury home complexes along its entire shore.   

The beach is a true paradise that contains a large natural pool formed by an extensive coral reef. Its calm, warm, crystal-clear waters are perfect to observe the colorful local fish and turtles that swim by.

Serrambi Beach
Serrambi Beach, located very close to Porto de Galinhas, is a mandatory stop for any tourist looking for peace and quiet. 

The beach is divided into two parts. One part faces the open sea while the other is protected by coral reefs. The water is clear and warm during most of the year, and visitors usually go there to rest, take long walks, and marvel at the incredible local sunset.  

Cupe Beach
Stretching for approximately 4.5 km, Cupe Beach is one of the longest in the region and a favorite among surfers due to its big, strong waves. Despite the rough sea, the beach is also very popular with families and visitors who want to enjoy a quiet day in the sun. 

At low tide, coral reefs form natural pools with shallow, warm water on some stretches of the beach, which are perfect for children. 

Maracaípe Beach
Maracaípe Beach is one of the most popular in the region among tourists and sports enthusiasts.  With strong waves, the beach regularly hosts important surfing and longboard surfing championships. But its idyllic setting and warm waters, typical of the Pernambuco coast, are suitable for tourists of all ages and profiles.

Porto de Galinhas is located approximately 60 km from Recife International Airport, the only airport in the region. Since it is so close to the capital city, getting there is very easy. 

By Bus

Buses from Recife to Porto de Galinhas depart from three different locations: Santa Rita Wharf Bus Station, Recife Bus Terminal (TIP), and Recife International Airport. The coaches take approximately two hours to get to Porto de Galinhas. As there is no bus station in Porto de Galinhas, the bus makes several stops along the main street in the village.

Personal Vehicles and Rentals
Visitors can drive from Recife to Porto de Galinhas. If you are leaving from Recife Airport, you will need to take Federal Highway BR-101 and later turn off into State Highway PE-060, which will take you to the district of Ipojuca. From there, you will follow State Highway PE-038 to the city of Nossa Senhora do Ó. After that, take Federal Highway BR-009, which passes by Muro Alto Beach and Cupe Beach, and goes all the way to Porto de Galinhas Village Center.

On Foot
The Porto de Galinhas coastline stretches for 18 km. A walk along the waterfront and around the village center is great fun.

Since local traffic is really light, a good option to get around is to rent a car.
