When we think of the Pantanal, the first image that comes to mind is the vast landscape of flooded lands, full of lush wildlife. However, there is a delicious secret hidden in this region: a chocolate factory. A unique opportunity for you to learn about the entire chocolate manufacturing process, from cocoa harvesting to the final product reaching the consumer.
Guided Tour
Many people have no idea how the chocolate manufacturing process works – from cocoa harvesting to the product reaching the consumer. With this in mind, a factory located in Campo Grande has opened its doors for a guided tour that will leave chocolate lovers salivating.
The adventure begins at the cocoa trees, where you can connect with nature, exploring the cocoa fruits and their leaves. Then, you are taken to see the cocoa bean selection process, the roasting, and the peeling of the beans, where the guide will explain each step.
You will be face to face with the machines and equipment used in the chocolate making process. You can even actively participate in some of these processes. Imagine selecting the cocoa beans and putting them in the roasting machine yourself?
Tasting
After seeing the machinery and how the processes work, you will move on to the most delicious part: the tasting. If you have never tried cocoa fruit, this is the time! And, of course, don’t forget to taste a cocoa bean, as it is from it that chocolate is made.
Every part of the cocoa is used. You can even have a tea made from the fruit peels. Isn’t that great? Along with the tea, there will also be a tasting of native fruits from Pantanal. It’s the perfect time to discover the tastes and flavors of this region!
From Cocoa to Chocolate
The next stop is the room where chocolate is born. You will see live the process of transforming cocoa into chocolates, gaining that characteristic texture and shine. It’s mouth-watering! But don’t get too excited, because there is still plenty of tasting to do.
The brand produces various types of chocolates and you will be able to taste each one of them. In the first tasting, you will get to know the various different percentages of cocoa presence in the product. The higher the percentage of cocoa, the less sweet the chocolate will be. Next, chocolates with Pantanal fruits will be served, for you to leave there in ecstasy.
At the end of the visit, you will stop by a small shop and will be able to take all the delights home. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the development of local small producers!
Biodiversity
In addition to learning in detail about the entire production process and hearing curiosities about chocolate, you will learn more about the Pantanal. The guide tells the story of the region’s native fruits and the communities that harvest these fruits.
It is also a moment of awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity and the sustainability practices adopted in chocolate production. A true immersion that you will never forget!
